QUICK ANSWER
How do I set up a teleprompter on my iPhone?
Choose a script, frame the shot, then adjust the reading text and scroll speed before recording. Keep camera setup separate from rehearsal so you can reuse a comfortable setup.
Choose the script you want to record
Teleprompter Focus opens on the camera. Tap Scripts to find or create a script. Open a script to edit it or choose Record. After editing, tap Save or Use in camera to save your changes. The library also keeps that script’s recordings together.
Already wrote your text elsewhere? Import a TXT or RTF file. A PDF or Word document needs conversion first.
Make the text comfortable before capture
- Choose portrait or landscape and the front or rear camera before starting.
- Open camera tools, then Prompter settings. In Text, adjust font size and colour. In Layout, adjust panel height, width and horizontal position. In Appearance, adjust the panel shade.
- Place the reading area close to the lens. Use a font you can read without leaning towards the screen.
- Rehearse with fixed-speed scrolling and adjust speed to your speaking pace. Pause or resume prompting when needed.
Mirror text is for a physical teleprompter rig. Leave it off when reading directly from the phone. It is separate from mirroring your recorded video.
Record, review and export
Tap Record and wait for the countdown if enabled. Pausing the prompter pauses the text, not the video recording. Stop capture explicitly when the take is finished.
Review the saved take, then choose Export video. Choose Save to Photos or Share Video / Save to Files; use Save to Files in the share sheet for a file copy. Optional captions are available with a subscription or eligible trial.
The free tier supports scripts up to 1,000 characters and exports without a watermark. For flexible pacing, voice-follow is a paid alternative to fixed-speed scrolling, subject to on-device speech availability.
