QUICK ANSWER
How do I import my script?
Use a TXT or RTF file. Share the file to Teleprompter Focus from another app, or use the in-app file importer to preview and confirm it. PDF and Word files need conversion first.
Choose a supported file
Teleprompter Focus imports plain text (.txt) and Rich Text Format (.rtf). Use TXT for words alone or RTF when you want to bring supported rich-text formatting with them.
PDF, DOC and DOCX are not supported import formats. Export the document as TXT or RTF in its source app, or copy its text into a new script. Renaming a file’s extension does not convert the document.
Import through the iOS share sheet
- Find the TXT or RTF file in Files, or open the source app’s file-sharing action.
- Share the actual file rather than a web link to it.
- Choose Teleprompter Focus. If it is not visible, look under More in the app row.
- Review the preview and tap Import to Teleprompter Focusto confirm the import.
- Return to Teleprompter Focus and open Scripts to find the imported script.
To import inside the app, open Scripts, tap Import, then Import file. Choose a file, inspect its title, character count and preview, then tap Import to save it.
If the import does not work
- No app in the share sheet: check that you are sharing a supported file, not a document link or unsupported format.
- Cloud file unavailable: download or make the file available in its source app first. That provider may need internet access.
- Unexpected formatting: review the imported script and adjust it in the editor before recording.
- Long script blocked at recording: importing does not remove the free tier’s 1,000-character recording limit.
Dropbox, Drive, OneDrive and Word instructions in the app explain this handoff. They do not connect a cloud account or keep your script in sync. Once imported, the script is a local copy you can adapt for speaking.
