Set the reading pace

Tap the words-per-minute value on the camera dock, then use minus or plus to adjust the fixed scrolling speed in 10 wpm steps. Rehearse a paragraph aloud and lower the speed if you are chasing the words.

Open Tools and choose Pause prompting or Resume prompting to control the script separately from video recording. Pausing the prompter does not stop the take.

When voice-follow is active, the dock shows Voice and fixed-speed adjustments are disabled.

Make the text readable

Open Tools → Prompter settings → Text. Adjust Font Size until you can read comfortably from your recording position. Larger text means fewer words fit in the panel, so try the setting aloud rather than judging it close to the screen.

Choose text colour

In the Text tab, choose a Text Colour preset or use Custom Colour. Check contrast against the camera preview. Rich-text scripts may retain their own non-default colours; change those in the script editor if a passage is hard to read.

Mirror text for a reflective rig

Turn on Mirror text in the Text tab when using beam-splitter glass. The text looks reversed on the phone so that its reflection reads normally. Leave it off when reading directly from the screen.

This control changes the script display, not the recorded camera image. See camera mirroring.

Resize and position the panel

In Layout, adjust Panel height, Panel width and Horizontal Position. A narrower panel near the lens can reduce visible eye movement; leave enough room to read without losing your place. You can also use the reading-window resize handle on the overlay.

Use the reading window

The reading strip helps you keep your place as the text moves through the overlay. If too much text competes for your attention, reduce the panel height and rehearse with the smaller window.

Adjust panel shade

In Appearance, change Panel shade · opacity. Increase it when the camera scene makes the words difficult to see; reduce it when you need a clearer view of your framing. The prompter overlay is a reading aid and is not burned into the video.

If reading still feels wrong

  • Text is backwards: turn Mirror text off unless using reflective glass.
  • Script is moving too quickly: reduce wpm, or pause prompting while you rehearse.
  • Words are hard to see: increase panel shade, choose a higher-contrast colour or simplify script formatting.
  • You want the starting settings: tap Reset prompter tuning in Prompter settings. Tuning changes otherwise save automatically.
