Use the starter script, put your iPhone at eye level, and record a short test. Play it back, then choose Export video to save or share it. ## Start with a small win Your first take only needs to answer one question: can you read comfortably and hear yourself clearly? Use an iPhone running iOS 18 or later. You do not need an account or a finished script. After the introduction, you can choose the subscription offer or close it to use the free tier. Free recordings have no watermark. The free script limit is 1,000 characters, a short spoken script, with duration depending on your pace; voice-follow and captions require a subscription or eligible trial. ## Make a short test take 1. Allow camera and microphone access when prompted. 2. Use the starter script, or open **Scripts** and create a few sentences about yourself. Tap **Use in camera** to save the script and return to capture. 3. Support the phone at eye level with your face lit from the front. Choose the front camera so you can check the frame. 4. Set a comfortable scroll speed. Read aloud once before recording. 5. Tap Record, wait for the countdown if enabled, then speak. Tap Stop when you finish. ## Check it, then keep it Play the recording. Listen for clear sound and check that your eyes are not travelling far from the lens. Change only the biggest problem before trying again. Choose **Export video**, then **Save to Photos** or **Share Video / Save to Files**. The share sheet also offers **Save to Files**. Captions are a separate paid option on the review screen. You can export without them. Once the test works, use the [iPhone setup guide](https://teleprompterfocus.com/guides/use-teleprompter-iphone/) to prepare your own script and tune the prompter.
