# Subscription and Free Tier Understand Teleprompter Focus pricing: the free tier with its script-length recording limit, the 3-day free trial, the annual subscription at $49.99/year, and how to restore purchases. Source: https://teleprompterfocus.com/docs/subscription/ Updated: 2026-11-04 QUICK ANSWER ## What does the free tier include? Record scripts up to 1,000 characters, use manual prompting and camera tools, and export without a watermark. Premium removes that script-length restriction and unlocks voice-follow and captions. Teleprompter Focus has a free tier and one annual Premium subscription. Premium removes the free script-length recording restriction and unlocks voice-follow and captions. Apple manages purchases and renewal. ## Annual plan The annual plan is $49.99/year, with a 3\-day introductory trial for eligible subscribers. There is no monthly plan. Check the App Store purchase sheet for your local price, eligibility, renewal date, and the terms that apply before confirming. You can dismiss the subscription screen and use the free tier. Dismissing that screen does not start a trial; a trial or purchase requires confirmation through Apple. ## What the free tier allows The free tier lets you create and import scripts, use manual prompting, record, and export without a watermark. Camera tools, filters, and virtual backgrounds do not require a subscription. The recording gate checks the selected script’s length: a script of up to **1,000 characters** can be recorded for free. A longer script opens an upgrade prompt when you try to record it. Shorten the script or subscribe to record it. Note The app describes this as about one minute, but it is a script-length check, not a 60-second recording timer. Speaking pace changes how long a script takes to read. There is no cap on the number of takes. ## Trial and renewal An active trial unlocks the same recording access, voice-follow, and captions as the annual subscription. Trial eligibility is determined by the App Store; a previous trial or subscription can affect whether the offer is available. Warning The trial renews into a paid annual subscription unless cancelled under Apple’s terms. Check and manage the subscription in iPhone Settings rather than relying on deleting the app or dismissing its subscription screen. The App Store subscription screen shows when access ends or renewal occurs. Trial access may end when you cancel; do not assume it continues until the original trial end date. ## What Premium unlocks - **Longer scripts:** the free script-length recording restriction is removed. - **Voice-follow:** prompting follows recognized speech. See [Voice-Follow Scrolling](https://teleprompterfocus.com/docs/voice-follow/). - **Captions:** create a separate video with burned-in captions. See [Captions and Export](https://teleprompterfocus.com/docs/captions-export/). A subscription does not provide cloud script or recording sync. Export important videos separately; restoring purchases restores access, not your locally stored content. ## Restore a purchase 1. Use the Apple Account that holds the subscription for App Store purchases on your iPhone. 2. Open **Scripts**, tap its Settings gear, and tap **Restore Purchases**. The subscription screen also has this button. 3. Complete any Apple authentication prompt, then check **Plan** in app Settings. It shows Free, Trial, or Premium. Restoring does not buy another subscription. If Plan still shows Free, check the subscription’s status in iPhone Settings and confirm the purchasing account. App Store verification requires a connection. See [subscription troubleshooting](https://teleprompterfocus.com/docs/permissions-troubleshooting/#ts-subscription-not-working) if access remains unavailable. ## Manage or cancel renewal Open the iPhone **Settings** app, tap your name, open **Subscriptions**, and select Teleprompter Focus. Use the cancellation control shown by Apple and check the resulting expiry or renewal status. Deleting Teleprompter Focus does not cancel a subscription. When paid access ends, the free script-length restriction applies again and voice-follow and captions require an upgrade. Your saved recordings can still be exported without captions.
